16 September Terenure 150 Rugby Festival
Terenure College celebrates it's 150th anniversary this season. To mark the occasion the school will take on St Marys College at all levels starting at 12:30 in the club on Saturday. Please support this great day out. Food and entertainment a plenty.

07 September - Car Parking
We ask patrons to please repect the car park on match days. Last Saturday many members were blocked in including the match referee and had a considerable wait to get out of the car park. This is unacceptable.


06 September - Two great wins
Terenure's 1st XV and J1 teams both had great wins over Greystones at the weekend. The first XV won by 58 -11 in a cracking game getting their Leinster Senior Cup campaign back on track. View the match photos here Next up St Marys in Templeville at 3pm on Saturday.

24 August - Mini and Youth Rugby

Mini & Youth rugby returns on Sunday 6th September. Details on eligibility, coaches, managers and training times can be found on the mini webite here.

Registration for the coming season will take place on Tuesday 25th & Wednesday 26th August and Tuesday 1st & Wednesday 2nd September in the clubhouse between 7pm – 9.30pm.

23 August 09 - Swine Flu

Terenure College Rugby Football Clubs priority has always being the health and safety of all its players, members and staff. We have therefore created the attached information sheet on swine flu (H1N1 virus) for you to download and read. The pandemic H1N1 virus is the dominant influenza virus in circulation in the world today.

The paper gives practical advice on prevention, and what you should do if you suspect you may have contacted the virus. This information sheet is primarily aimed at rugby players but is suitable for all members. For more information please visit http://www.hse.ie/eng/swineflu/Reports_and_News

11 August 09 - President Tim Duggan Makes History
The appointment of Tim Duggan as President for 2009-10 is historic in our club’s history as he is the first son of a former President Timmie Duggan who held office in 1975-76.

11 August 09 Terenure College RFC Chairman

The position of Chairman of the Club is vacated by the long serving Mr Frank Gildea. The Trustees and Management would welcome applications from members to fill this role as soon as possible. Details are here. Please contact the office if you are interested.

11 August 09 Terenure Boys Take on South Africa

Terenures Robbie Smyth and Mark O'Neill have spent the summer training and playing with Empangeni in South Africa. The boys have been having a great time and making a good impression on the rugby field.

RUGBY PITCHES NOTICE

Until further notice the first three playing pitches in Terenure College Rugby Football Club are not to be used under any circumstances until further notice. The pitches are undergoing major renovation works that involves the application of strong herbicides and fertilizers that may be harmful to your health.

Under no circumstances can anyone walk on these areas or use the pitches for any activity whatsoever. Warning signs have being erected and are clearly visible around the works area.

Anyone found on any of the three pitches will be deemed to be trespassing and will be dealt with in the severest possible way by the Management Committee of Terenure College R.F.C.

Annual Golf Outing

The annual golf outing takes place on Friday 21st August 2009 in the Grange Golf Club Timesheet 12:30 - 16:00 hrs. Cost is €80 per person including golf & dinner. For further information please contact Ricky Muldowney 087 244 2031.

Pre Season Training

Pre season training for the 1st XV squad and the Under 20's starts next Tuesday 4th August at 19:oo hrs sharp. You are expected to be togged out and on the pitch at 19:00 hrs. From then on training will start every Tues & Thurs on the pitch at 7 and you will need to bring your boots, runners and gum shield from the start. Every Monday starting on the 17th August we will be in the National Boxing Stadium for 5 or 6 Mondays

Summer Training

Summer training is underway and if you haven't already done so please contact Ian Morgan for more details. The gym in the College is open for gym work every Tuesday, Wednesday & Fridays from 19:00 hrs please ask for Dermot Blaney (fitness Coach) for more details.

Terenure Confirm New Director of Rugby

Terenure have confirmed Ian Morgan as their new director of rugby. Ian who comes to Terenure from Division 3 club Barnhall will take over the reigns from Kevin West who has departed the club.

Mark Mahony - Club Captain 2009/10

Mark Mahony has been confirmed as the club captain for 2009/10. The versatile back, who is happy at both full back and scrum half has been a first team player since leaving Terenure College. He takes over from Alex Dunlop who has left the club for Blackrock College. Speaking about his appointment mark said that it was an honour to be selected as captain and he looks forward to sterring the club back into Division 1.

Summer Signings
Terenure have signed 5 french players for the 2009/10 season. One player is joining us from Suttonians RFC. more details to come.

The Annual General Meeting of Terenure College RFC will tkae place on Wednesday 3rd June 2009 at 8pm and not Wednesday May 27th as originally advertised in the clubhouse at Lakelands Park.
